Privacy Policy

This is the personal portfolio of Vladimir Zeltyn, based in Riga, Latvia. I am the data controller for this site. The short version: analytics cookies are set only if you accept them, nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

What is collected

• Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd.) – page views, approximate location, device and the page that referred you. It sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*, kept up to 2 years) only after you click Accept. Until then it receives cookieless, anonymous signals only. Event data is kept for no longer than 14 months.
• Ahrefs Web Analytics – privacy-friendly traffic statistics. It sets no cookies and does not identify you.
• Hosting logs – the site is hosted by Netlify, which processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse.
• Email – if you write to me, I keep your message and address to reply and to follow up on a project.

Your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser (localStorage, key zeltyn-consent) so the banner does not reappear.

Why (legal basis)

• Analytics cookies – your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Hosting and security – my legitimate interest in running a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Email – replying to your request or preparing a project (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Who else receives data

Only the providers above: Google, Ahrefs and Netlify. Some of them process data outside the EU; those transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your choices and rights

You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time: Cookie settings. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies.

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, or take a copy of it. Email vzeltyn@gmail.com.
